Gosford Park: director Robert Altman wanted Robert to star together with Alan Bates, Stephen Fry, Emily Watson, Helen Mirren, and Kristin Scott Thomas. It's a multiple storylined drama set in 1930, showing the lives of upstairs guest and downstairs servants at a party in a country house in England. Robert would then have played Ryan Phillippe's part as the American actor.
